Greenway Steel Joins the Global Steel Climate Council as an Associate Member

Membership strengthens Greenway’s support for steel producers and buyers working to measure, reduce, and verify product carbon emissions

Tuscaloosa, AL – October 26, 2026 — Greenway Steel, a sustainability and carbon advisory firm serving the metals and manufacturing sectors, today announced that it has joined the Global Steel Climate Council (GSCC) as an Associate Member.

GSCC is a non-profit organization that has developed a technology-neutral, globally applicable standard for reducing emissions from steel production. The standard is built on science-based certification and transparent carbon accounting. As a member, Greenway Steel will take part in GSCC’s work across the steel value chain and support clients as they adopt emissions-intensity-based approaches to certification and reporting.

“Steel producers and their customers need emissions data they can trust and act on,” said Randy Charles, Founder and Manager of Greenway Steel. “GSCC’s standard gives the industry a clear, credible way to measure and verify progress. We’re proud to join GSCC and look forward to helping our clients put that framework to work, from quantifying product footprints to meeting customer requirements and regulations such as CBAM.”

“GSCC welcomes Greenway Steel as an Associate Member. Greenway’s work helping producers and buyers measure emissions and identify reduction opportunities supports GSCC’s commitment to transparent carbon accounting and measurable progress in steel decarbonization,” said Adina Renee Adler, Executive Director, Global Steel Climate Council.
